Hi fellow Rosetan,
I'm sure you realize that providing more content on Rosetans around the world than any other website can become overwhelming, so I'd like to make it less so, with your help. If you could give me your honest answers to the following, I can take these into consideration going forward:
Please answer each question with a simple sentence, not just Yes or No. If you do not wish your answers shown publicly, you may email them to me: tworosetos@ymail.com
Assuming you looked the site over before you joined, what thing(s) actually made you decide to sign up (photos, ancestry, members, total content, discussions, the "look & feel" of the site, something else)?
Was the Sign Up process easy, and if not what were the stumbling blocks?
The START HERE! section constantly changes to give you the latest information on the system. Do you read it whenever you see the posting date has changed since your last visit? If not, what causes you to avoid that step?
If you uploaded photos, did you check to see if there were any guidelines first, or just upload?
Have you ever taken the time to look at each of the tab/pages to acquaint yourself with their contents (Invite, Events, Forum, Photos, Videos)? If not, could you state why?
In your opinion, is the site well organized? Should it be less organized and random considering the topics the members seem to discuss?
If you can't find something you're seeking, is it because you're not sure where to find it (topic, message)?
Is anything missing that you feel should be seen or discussed on the site?
Have you ever used the SEARCH slot in the top right corner to find something (were you aware it was there)?
Is the Home page/tab too cluttered? If YES, what pieces would you remove?
Is there any part(s) or piece(s) that you feel is intuitive, seems totally logical, or helps you quickly?
What is the first thing you do or first place you look when Two Rosetos pops up on your screen?
Thanks so much for helping me out,
Phil Falcone - Two Rosetos
1--I had been in the old version and liked the ability to communicate with other Rosetani, and learn much more about the history of Roseto, and about my family. So I didn't look over the new site, I joined as soon as I could.
2--I had no problem signing up, so it couldn't be too hard.
3--I check every time I log on to see what has been posted since the last time I was on.
4--I uploaded my photo without checking, but I will check if I decide to add new photos.
5--I have looked at all of the pages, but I don't do so every time I log on.
6--I think it's well organized, but some discussions naturally leave the original topic and end up covering material that would more properly be under a different heading, but that's the way real live conversations go sometimes.
7--I'm usually looking for new or recent material, so it's not often that I can't find it.
8--I'm sure all sorts of things could potentialy be added, but I don't find any major deficiencies.
9--I have used it on occasion, and found what I was looking for.
10--It is a little busy, but not too hard to navigate.
11--The whole thing seems organized in a moderately intuitive way. Once it was pointed out how to view all the new content first, it got a lot easier.
12--First I check to see who, if anyone, signed the guestbook, since the last time, then I go to the Forum and check all the new material. Then I see if there are any new members, and then check My Page. But often I will get an e-mail with a link to a new posting, so I will click on that and read it, then see what else is new on the Forum, then see if there is anything else on My Page.
1. Had been on Ancestry.com - Roseto network - but liked the fact that on this venue we could share photos of all of our families. I also liked the fact that I would have my own page - as I had a taste of that on Facebook - but this is much better in my opinion. Love the videos too - as you well know.
2. Had no problem at all.
3. That's one section I think I have ignored - why? Who knows? I seem to go here, there and everywhere. I will try to pay more attention.
4. In the early days - no - because I don't believe you had a guideline in place back at the beginning? However, apparently my photos were no problem as I had already been downsizing them on my camera program.
5. Yes
6. Yes, I think if you just take your time there is no difficulty in working your way around the site.
7. Haven't had that experience.
8. Can't think of anything.
9. Not that search area, but have searched under specific tabs - i.e. pasesans etc.
10. I don't think so, sometimes I just spend time around there fooling around, i.e yesterday I poked about on some of the photo scenes - and went to Flickr to look around.
11. No, I don't seem to have run into any problems anywhere that I can think of.
12. Latest Activity - unless I am following a direct link from my email. Also look at latest paesanos, videos and blogs. As you know I love to blog.

1. After looking over the site the biggest thing that made me want to join was the feel. It's very "cozy" and personal. It's obvious that this site was made from a passion, instead of for monetary benefit. Plus my great Uncle was a member and that says something to me about the integrity of it.
2. Sign up was a snap!
3. Even though I'm very computer savy I still read the Start Here, mostly to make sure that I am being respectful to the administrator and the other members. With such a close knit site I want to make sure I am versed on the etiquette here.
4. I did check to make sure there were guidelines first before uploading pics.
5. I checked out the site thoroughly before signing up and then while awaiting approval I looked over each of the tabs just to see what would be available.
6. I think the site is very well organized, can't think of anything that would make it better.
7. Looking for forums was a little confusing for me at first, simply because I didn't how to find the one's I was looking for.
8. Can't think of anything that needs to be discussed on the site.
9. I have used the search tab. It's usually the first thing I look for in a site.
10. I don't think the home page is cluttered at all.
11. I think you've done a great job.
12. Updates.
1.Most definitely the photos and the wealth of information.
2. Easy. Very much so.
3. Not sure, I suspect just time, or maybe overlooking it.
4. Haven't uploaded, but didn't realize I could.
5. yes.
6. Well I prefer organized although for me, the site is a bit over-loaded with material.
7. True, I get a bit daunted by all of the messages.
8.Is anything missing that you feel should be seen or discussed on the site? Not able to say at this point.
9.Have you ever used the SEARCH slot in the top right corner to find something (were you aware it was there)? yes, and I used it when I first found the site.
10.Is the Home page/tab too cluttered? If YES, what pieces would you remove? Yes, I am not sure. Maybe the intro with suggestions about how to find things, attention to the tabs. etc.
11.Is there any part(s) or piece(s) that you feel is intuitive, seems totally logical, or helps you quickly? I can't say, but maybe when I am more acquainted with the site.
12.What is the first thing you do or first place you look when Two Rosetos pops up on your screen? pix.
